‘Open the Book’ is a National Initiative which aims to present Bible stories to children in primary schools in an accessible and enjoyable way.
Our ‘Open the Book’ team go into the two local schools Breakspear and Glebe where we perform a dramatised presentation of a Bible story in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Assemblies for the children.
On average we present a different Bible story each half term which we perform four times, two at each school and sometimes do presentations for part of a Church Service, as part of the Ickenham Churches Holiday Club, and as part of the Ickenham Festival.
We meet most Monday afternoons at 1.30pm when we get together to discuss the stories, sort out the props and rehearse.
